Basic Short Courses
Duration: 1 day
This course offers basic training in using slates, tiles and associated lead flashings. Suitable for DIY enthusiasts, those involved in property maintenance, loft conversions, and trade professionals such as architects, contract managers and estimators who would like to get hands-on experience.

DIY Roofing Courses
Duration: 1-2 days
Discover the basics of roofing so that you can fix basic repairs yourself. Course elements include Safe Access Equipment and Procedures, Basic Tools, Roofing Terminology, Plain Tiles, Interlocking Tiles, Slates and Lead Slates, Mixing Mortar, Basic Lead Flashings, Guttering, UPVC Fascia, Velux Windows, Insulation and Ventilation, Sunpipes at Roof Level and things to look for when choosing a contractor.
Course materials
As the courses are practical, you need to wear suitable work clothing and provide your own safety boots. We will provide all necessary tools, materials and further safety clothing / equipment for use at the South Coast Roof Training Centre.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available at the Centre, but you will need to bring your own lunch.
