Designed for experienced roof tilers/slaters.
These courses cover one or more roof details (depending on time and experience) using one of the materials below, such as a laced valley using peg tiles, or a swept valley using slates, or even an eyebrow using shingles… the choice is yours…
- Random-sized diminishing course slating
- Tiling – plain tiles, peg tiles, interlocking tiles
- Shingles – oak or cedar
- Random-sized diminishing course stone slates (single or double lap)
Most of the courses run for 2 days, a few for 1 day or 4 days (or longer if required, as they are tailored to your specification). The amount of time needed will depend on your current level of knowledge, experience, or any particular roofing project you may have in mind.

As the courses are practical, you will need to wear suitable work clothing and provide your own safety boots. We suggest that you bring your own tools and we will provide any extra specialist tools where necessary. Tea and coffee making facilities are available at the Centre, but you will need to bring your own lunch.
