PITCHED ROOFING COURSES:
FOUNDATION –
- Option 1 – 5 days a week over a three-week term (a total of 15 days).
- Option 2 – Any one of the materials for 1 week (5 days).
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME – (On hold until further notice)
- This is a 2-year framework to achieve Level 2 Construction Diploma in Roof Slating & Tiling (workshop element of the programme) and the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roof Slating & Tiling is achieved via On-site Assessment). Students are required to attend 3 days a week – Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a 4-week period and return to their employer for 4 weeks. This is repeated until the workshop programme is completed, assessors will then visit the students in the workplace to carry out observations for the NVQ 2 element of the course.
NVQ LEVEL 2 SUP –
- 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) for 7 weeks, up to 13 days practical training (subject to profiling), followed by on-site assessment, all within a 1-year framework.
HERITAGE SUP L3 –
- 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) for 7 weeks, up to 13 days, followed by on-site assessments, all within a 1-year framework.
HERITAGE SAP L3 –
- 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) for 15 weeks, up to 30 days, followed by on-site assessments, all within a 1-year framework.
FLAT ROOFING COURSES:
BUILT-UP FELT –
- 2 days (Thursday and Friday)
GRP –
- 1 day (Thursday)
LEADWORK:
Basic bossing –
- 3 days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
Basic welding –
- 3 days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
OSAT: (ON-SITE ASSESSMENT)
- You will be visited on-site between 3 – 4 times by one of our assessors to cover the course elements required.
Facilities?
Training facilities:
- There are a variety of pitched roofing and flat roofing training rigs available for practical work.
- A dedicated Lead bossing/welding workshop.
- A classroom for theory work.
Canteen facilities:
- We have a canteen, equipped with a microwave, fridge, hot water urn, etc.
- Tea & coffee is provided, but you will need to provide your own lunch. Tescos, Morrisons etc are nearby.
- Lunch is only provided for courses where stated (Company Days Only)
- Toilets, his and hers
Accommodation:
- We do not have any accommodation at the centre itself, but there are many B&Bs in Littlehampton (Click here) and as usual Premier Inn is also in the area.

Tools/P.P.E.? – What should I bring?
Tools:
- Tools are supplied for most courses (pitched, flat, GRP, Lead, etc), although on pitched roof courses we encourage everyone to bring their own, as you will be more familiar with them and proceed through the courses much easier.
- We encourage students on the Apprenticeship Programme to bring their own tools as much as possible, this is to build confidence with their own tools and be more prepared for onsite work. (Click here for the suggested items for this course)
Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E):
- You will need to supply your own safety boots, safety boots must be worn in the workshop at all times, on all courses. (Companies must make all employees attending courses, aware of this health and safety rule).
- All other safety equipment will be provided as needed
Directions?
Arriving by train at Littlehampton Station:
- Walk out of the train station, turn right and walk along the pavement that runs next to the rail track. Keep walking until you see Tesco in front of you, don’t enter the carpark, but turn right and go through the tunnel under the rail track. When you come out of the tunnel, walk up to the first crossroads next to the blue fence of Jewsons builders merchant and turn left, you will now be in Arndale Road, carry on walking and you will come to a cul-de-sac, on your left is a sign at the entrance of the cul-de-sac which lists us at unit 18, turn into the cul-de-sac and we are on the right, second unit along.
