Lever Arm or Angle of Creep, Side-Lap or Margin – Would all your roofers know one from the other?

If not…

How will they know where they are? A) ______________

What they do? A) ____________

Why they work?… or don’t! A) _______________

Not a problem…

At South Coast Roof Training Ltd,

we will help you fill in the blanks.

Yes, we will help your roofers improve their knowledge and gain those extra skills needed to take on more challenging jobs, confident in the knowledge of how it works and why it works or doesn’t.

You will then win more work, maintain and build your existing reputation and make more money.

Here is what the NVQ LEVEL 2 SUP can do for you and your less experienced roofers…

Underlay – We will show them how to lay the underlay correctly, including all laps, sags and overhangs.

Battening – Still battening in inches instead of millimetres? Did you know your guarantees are ‘Null and Void’ if you are? We have come across many companies that have already been caught for this… and paid a heavy price.

If your inexperienced roofers have helped nail battens up a roof for slates, plain tiles or interlocking tiles, but may have never really worked out the calculations or set out a roof before starting, we will show them how, whether it’s an even gauge for interlocking tiles, or a fixed gauge for slates… we will even pass on some tricks of the trade to make it easier and quicker.

The first task we will give our students, is to batten a roof for interlocking tiles, without any help, this is just to assess what they bring with them from site, there is no pressure.

Interlocking tiles, Plain tiles, Slates – Again, we will build on their prior knowledge of eaves, verges, ridges, valleys, hips, etc, to improve their existing skills and have them leave here a more complete roofer, ready to gain more experience on-site and become a more valid member of your team.

2 days a week for 7 weeks (Thursday & Friday)

Still interested? Here’s what we need to do first…

We will help you find the level of your roofers, identify the best place to start and tailor the training to match their current skills by profiling (We assess what level the employees are at ‘honestly’ so we can make sure they are on the right course for them. Which means they will get the best from the course and you get the best value for money)

(Profiling can be done over the phone, for those with too far to travel, but ideally, we prefer for your employees to visit)

What do we look for? – If they have started a roof by themselves, have done the calculations/working out or had a go, done underlay, battening, tiled, slated, mortar work, or used dry systems then they could go straight into an NVQ Level 2 SUP, followed by onsite assessments to complete the full NVQ qualification.
